Drakes Retail shop

As soon as Drake’s shared their struggles with the flagship store, Craftex knew exactly what to do. The team improved how the store worked, from daily operations to the customer experience.
A carefully crafted conversion that balances industrial history with contemporary performance, thoughtfully reworking the space to meet modern needs while preserving its original character for the future.

How We Saved Thousands on a Warehouse

For Drake’s, the Savile Row flagship needed more than just a polished look. The store had to handle daily trading, made-to-order services, stock management, and back-of-house operations. And all this while preserving the brand identity. Over time, the existing layout started to slow workflows and made running the store less efficient, showing that the space needed thoughtful refinement.

This is when Drake’s started to look out for a partner who knew all about live retail environments and the premium finishes expected on Savile Row. It was when they discovered CRAFTEX and decided to rely on them for enhancing the flagship store, improving operational flow, functionality, and efficiency. The only thing Drake’s expected was that all this had to be done while keeping the store fully open and maintaining the elegance and character that the brand is known for.

Type of Project
Drake’s Savile Row store needed more than just a refresh. The space had to serve everyone, customers, staff, and behind-the-scenes operations, seamlessly. Daily sales, made-to-order services, and stock management all needed to flow smoothly without slowing anyone down. When they turned to Craftex for help, the team quickly understood what was required. We considered each corner of the store so that we could improve functionality for the people using it, while preserving the elegance and craftsmanship that Savile Row is famous for.

Transforming Drake’s Flagship Store

The biggest challenge? The store had to stay open while the work was happening. Craftex replaced lighting so products looked better, installed flooring that could handle lots of foot traffic, and added custom desks and joinery for the staff. They also designed new clothing rails and added power and data points where needed. Every improvement was practical but still stylish, making it easier for staff to work and for customers to shop.

Upgrading Every Part of the Store

We gave a complete makeover to the made-to-order section, where we added a pull-out mirror so that fittings feel effortless and precise. Additionally, we redesigned the rails so garments glide smoothly from one place to another. Craftex even rethought the layout, making it easy for staff to move freely and for customers to enjoy a relaxed, seamless experience. Each tweak was subtle, but not to forget, SMART, keeping the store’s luxurious feel while making life behind the scenes a lot easier.

Making Made-to-Order Areas Work Smarter

Working on Savile Row leaves no room for mistakes. Every delivery and work schedule was planned carefully so the store could stay open and nearby businesses were not affected. Craftex kept the site clean, safe, and well organised, allowing improvements to happen quietly in the background as part of warehouse conversion. By the end, Drake’s had a store that not only looked better but worked better every day. Products were easier to display, staff could move around comfortably, and daily tasks felt simpler. Customers noticed a calmer, more enjoyable shopping experience, while the store kept the quality and character expected on Savile Row. The space now truly supports the brand, the team, and its customers.
