Design and reconstruction
Craftex spent more than seven months dedicated to the makeover of Portsoken House. We completely refurnished the second and eight floor offices and before turning our attention to the reception area.
Creating a modern, welcoming reception befitting of this highly desireable space
As the first impression of the building for tenants, prospective tenants and visitors alike, we worked in collaboration with our client to create a premium entranceway which was reflective of the highly desireable location and the restored property’s luxurious appeal.
Working during non-office hours including through the night and at weekends to ensure there was no interruption to the building’s tenants, our talented team designed and reconstructed a vibrant, impactful 70sq m reception over the course of 12 weeks.
In order to ensure the best possible use of all available floor space, we carefully undertook a number of key structural changes, while remaining mindful of this beautiful building’s original features.
Notable structural changes included a complete reconstruction of the facades surrounding the elevators from the reception area, the installation of a new shop window to allow ample light to flood into the space and create a bright, airy ambience and the installation of a new ladder.
We also re-plastered the walls to create a sleek, smooth finish and installed modern light fixtures.
The highest quality Italian tiles were supplied and fitted, along with £500,000 of joinery, completed by a master craftsmen.
